Even though many in the United States would say that we are a Christian nation, according to Christianity Today: “nine out of ten Americans are “not” committed Christians” in accordance with Biblical doctrine and beliefs, or have agreement with a Biblical worldview. Simply put, if you are a “committed Christian” the next 9 people you come across will most likely go to hell. If christians really believe what the bible says about hell we would not want our worst enemies to go there and yet for many of us we stay quiet and subdued. There are certain words spoken by the Lord Jesus that need to be taken seriously and shared with the world around us before it is too late. It is written in Matthew 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad and easy to travel is the path that leads the way to destruction and eternal loss, and there are many who enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow and difficult to travel is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it.
Yet, while there is still breath in us, there is still an opportunity to implore others to turn toward the Lord by proclaiming the hope that is found in Jesus Christ alone. The Gospel is not merely a warning about what is to come, but the good news that God offers forgiveness, redemption, and eternal life through His Son. We should never forget that even one life brought to Christ is of immeasurable worth where the angels rejoice in heaven, so we must not be neglectful knowing that God can use even our smallest act of faithfulness for His eternal purposes.
If hell is as bad as the bible says it is, no Christian should be silent and let someone go there without a fight, not even those who have come to hate God. There may be even some of us who know the truth and have the outward appearance of righteousness but inwardly are whitewashed tombs. I question myself quite often as to whether or not I am following the Lord Jesus as I should. There have been many dead saints that challenge me by the words they left behind, like what Charles Spurgeon said “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” I would rather someone be upset with me for telling them that Jesus loves them and sharing the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, how to get to heaven, than to have a peaceful relationship in silence and know that they will spend eternity in hell. I often share the words of the Lord that He spoke in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
There is a change happening to our world leading many to believe that Jesus is coming back sooner than later. With that being said, I try to live my life in the way the Lord Jesus spoke in Mark 12:30 And you shall love the Lord your God out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul (your life) and out of and with all your mind (with your faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of and with all your strength. This is the first and principal commandment. There are many days that I fail to achieve this, but on those days I thank God for His grace and mercy and try to focus even more on what is written in 1 Peter 1:15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” There are going to be consequences for those of us who do not pursue holiness as a way of life. Obedience involves actively pursuing spiritual discipline, actively making choices that align with God’s will, and relying on the Holy Spirit for strength and endurance. Holiness is a process of being set apart for God’s purposes, and it transforms every area of life. I want to go to heaven and take as many people with me as I can. I am not trying to be an alarmist or a survivalist, I want to be a Revivalist.
The time to speak to those who are apart for Christ is not tomorrow, because none of us are promised tomorrow. The time to examine our hearts, pursue holiness, and boldly proclaim the Gospel is now, while there is still time to work. Let us not allow fear, rejection, embarrassment, or the desire to remain comfortable to keep us silent when eternity is at stake.
Who else is with me in the battle and can say boldly, Maranatha, come quickly Lord Jesus? Dear hearers, please pray for me as I pray for all who read these words. Heavenly Father, please, give all of Your children boldness and courage to speak Your truth with love, compassion, humility, and conviction, and help us never to be ashamed of the Gospel. Father, forgive us for the times we have remained silent, strengthen us by Your Holy Spirit, and make us holy vessels that You can use for Your purposes. Lord, place people in our path who need to hear the good news, give us the wisdom on how to reach them, and have You open their hearts to receive Your truth and Your grace. Maranatha, come quickly Lord Jesus, and until that day, help us faithfully watch, pray, serve, love, and proclaim Your Gospel to all those who need to hear it. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, Amen.
My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
