Weariness of the soul is a little difficult to explain, but I will try anyway. This has been a challenging week for me, in all truth, a challenging season. I feel like I have been run through the wringer multiple times as well as beat against the rocks. I am disheartened and disappointed with so many things going on in my world. I have suffered difficult and unpleasant experiences, pain, hardship, and heartache. There are moments when the weight of it all feels heavier than words can express, and even the simplest things can become difficult to carry. I have become tired, not the tired of wanting rest, but the tired of needing peace. Sometimes the soul becomes tired not because we have stopped believing, but because we have been trusting in, relying on, clinging to the Lord for intervention from above and there seems to be no relief in sight. Yet, even in those moments when our hearts are weary, God has not moved away from us, His promises have not changed, and His presence has not left us so we must continue to pray.

I know that I am not alone and that there are others that are going through so much worse than I am. There seems to be a widespread feeling that something is continually going wrong or about to. Uncertainty and a cloud of confusion have come upon the masses. It seems that the promises of God are being forgotten even though the truth is that God is always at work in our lives. I am encouraged when I read what is written in Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.

There is an unspoken agreement among those of us that struggle, that the fight is too hard for us to endure. We question, when shall we be able to withdraw from the warfare with at least some form of honor and dignity? The choice that we need to make is, how will we live moment by moment, in spiritual power or the influence of society? A multitude of us have a similar problem, we withdraw from not only those who are willing to help in our time of need, but also from those who desire to help us not only survive but thrive. The vision of one’s own future that the populace has is a mirage that may never become a pool of water and yet we continually search for refreshment.

But I want to encourage you today not to mistake a difficult season for the end of your story. There is still purpose in you, there is still breath in you, and there is still a future that God can bring forth even when you cannot see the path clearly. What looks like an ending may simply be a place where God is asking you to rest, trust Him, and allow Him to renew what life has worn down.

Today, I am praying for all of those who are feeling battle weary and weak. You need to know that you are not alone. You may feel that you can’t go on another day, but if God woke you up today, He has a plan and a purpose for you and He will give you all you need to face what lies ahead. Please remember, when you come to the end of your strength and emotional reserves, God is there saying “What you can’t do, I can…when you are weak I am strong!” Dear Hearers, always remember that we are “Not” fighting for victory, we are fighting “From” victory, because of what the Lord Jesus did upon the cross. He is the strength for our faith.

So, my brethren, do not give up simply because you are tired; sometimes faithfulness looks like taking one more step while trusting God for the strength to take it. Hold on to His promises when your feelings cannot hold you up, and remember that the God who carried you through yesterday is still able to carry you through today. Let us lift our eyes beyond the circumstances before us and believe that there is still hope, healing, restoration, and purpose ahead.

Please, Lord, strengthen every weary heart, restore every broken spirit, and remind Your children that they are never walking through the valley alone. Father, help us to surrender our fear, confusion, disappointment, and exhaustion to You and teach us to trust Your strength when our own has failed. And Holy Spirit, we ask You to renew us, sustain us, and lead us forward in faith, knowing that our hope is in God and that He will never leave us nor forsake us because He is faithful even when we become faithless. Our hope ultimately rests not in the consistency of our emotions or even the strength of our faith, but in the faithfulness of our loving heavenly Father. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, Amen.

My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
