Have you ever thought about what you would give away if you were overly abundantly rich? I asked this to a friend and her response was, “It is the same thing I give away now when I don’t have hardly anything, my knowledge and understanding of salvation in and through the Lord Jesus.” Many of us are so busy learning about all that the world has to offer that we are not focusing on all that God wants us to offer to the world. We spend countless hours investing in things that will one day fade away, while neglecting the eternal treasures that can never be taken from us. Every opportunity God places before us is an invitation to reflect His love, His truth, and His mercy to someone who desperately needs Him. We go to school to learn how to be equipped to handle whatever may come our way but what do we really learn that has any eternal value. We look to teachers, books, peers, to learn how to be what the world thinks we should be and not look to The Teacher, Jesus, The Book, the Bible, our spiritual Peers, the Saints, to help us to be all that God wants us to be. The more I seek the Lord, the more I realize that true wisdom is not measured by what I know, but by how faithfully I live what He has taught me. Knowledge that does not lead us to greater obedience and deeper love for Christ ultimately profits very little. I am convicted as I have prayed over what is written in Matthew 19:21 Jesus answered him, “If you wish to be perfect [that is, have the spiritual maturity that accompanies godly character with no moral or ethical deficiencies], go and sell what you have and give [the money] to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me [becoming My disciple, believing and trusting in Me and walking the same path of life that I walk].” 22 But when the young man heard this, he left grieving and distressed, for he owned much property and had many possessions [which he treasured more than his relationship with God]. I understand that the Lord Jesus made this statement to this certain individual, but I think it applies to many others as well, especially me in some way. I question my commitment to the Lord Jesus and regularly look into the mirror and ask myself, “What do you want to give the entire world, your entire world? What are you rich with that others need so desperately for you to give them? Hope? Faith? Love? Joy? Peace?” Maybe some will freely give away what they have, but from what I have seen, most won’t because of pride and selfishness. What you “want” to give to the world is different from what you are “willing” to give away. What we really need to ask ourselves earnestly is this, “Is what I want in life more important to me than what God wants for me to give to the world?” I am more aware today than ever before that I need to forget about my plans for my future and focus intently on what God’s plans are for me, realizing that His plans are so much better than mine. None of us are beyond the reach of God’s calling, and none of us are too insignificant to be used for His glory. Whether we have much or little, every heart surrendered to Christ becomes a vessel through which His grace can flow to others. May we encourage one another to lay aside fear, comparison, and selfish ambition so that together we may boldly proclaim the hope found only in Jesus Christ. There is room at the foot of the cross for every person willing to humble themselves before the Savior, and there is a place in His Kingdom for every faithful servant who answers His call. For those who read these words and are affected in any way, I pray for grace and peace to be upon you as you die to yourself and live wholeheartedly for Him.

My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
