I do not want to assume that everyone who reads what I share is going to heaven. In America we have developed a culture that actively practices Easy Believism. This mindset has brought about confession without authentic repentance, words without works, a desire for the love of God without sacrifice, and a hope for reconciliation without a plea for forgiveness. Many desire the promises of Christ while refusing the surrender that comes with truly following Him. There is a generation that knows the language of Christianity but has never experienced the transforming power of the cross. Too many have embraced a gospel that comforts their flesh but never confronts their sin. The narrow way that Jesus spoke of has been exchanged for a broad path of convenience and self-preservation. I believe that there are some that have heard the gospel, time and time again, have not had their hearts truly drawn to it. There are many that associate with the church every Sunday and maybe even on Wednesday’s that are outside of Christ. I pray fervently for myself as I read what is written in *Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’* My question for all those who say “Lord, Lord…”, are you a bona fide follower of the Lord Jesus or just a fan? Do you have a genuine relationship with God or are you just trying to follow the rules to be able to get the prize of heaven? In the Book of Acts, shortly after Peter shared the truth through the scriptures that Jesus was the Christ, there was a change in the hearts of the people that heard it. It is written in *Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart [with remorse and anxiety], and they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what are we to do?” 38 And Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it) and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.* Please pay attention to what I am asking, what dwells in the secret places of your heart? Have you been radically changed on the inside? A little while back I spoke to a young man that when I asked him if he was a Christian he said “yes.” When I asked him if he was going to heaven he said, “no one can be sure of that,” to which my response was that, “I can, because of the truth of God’s Word.” I asked him if he was living for the glory of God, if he was sharing Christ everywhere he went, there was silence. My thought was that if a servant of the Most High doesn’t tell others about Jesus, they really have to question whether or not they are His authentic follower or just a fan putting on the face paint to show the façade that expresses not only their ignorance but more times than not their arrogance with regard to confession and repentance. These individuals will never see the kingdom of heaven and that is why most days I feel the need to evaluate my own walk before God in humility and brokenness. Confession for acceptance without repentance does not glorify God; it glorifies the one who confesses, to make himself look better. When a person neither acknowledges their depravity, nor their need to change, it shows the dishonesty of such a confession. My dear friends, I ask the Father of mercies on a regular basis, in the name of Jesus, His Son, that He pours upon us His grace by the power of the Holy Spirit, and gives all those who hear these words, those who acknowledge that they are only a fan, that they be “cut to the heart” with an honest desire to have a heart of repentance toward Him. Let us no longer be content with outward appearances while neglecting inward need for holiness. Let us examine our lives by the truth of Scripture and not by comparison with those around us. And if Christ truly is Lord of our lives, then let our obedience, our love, our repentance, and our witness testify that we belong wholly to Him and not the world around us. Who will join me in complete repentance, for such a heart is one of great value and purpose before God. Heavenly Father, do not allow us, Your children, to remain comfortable in sin while calling ourselves by the name which is so precious, “Christian”; search us, break us, and lead us into true repentance and holiness and start with me. Lord Jesus, awaken every hardened heart, remove every false assurance, and teach us to walk in sincere obedience by the power of Your Holy Spirit from this day forward, in Jesus’ precious and powerful name, and all of God’s people say, Amen.

My BeLoved, may the grace of the Lord Jesus, and the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
