If you read your Bible regularly you shouldn’t be surprised with all that is going on in the world. We are living in days that call for spiritual discernment, steadfast faith, and hearts anchored in the truth of God’s Word. When the Lord went to prepare a place for us He didn’t leave us without guidance. The Scripture provides wisdom to help us recognize the times and remain faithful amid uncertainty. Our response to these signs should not be rooted in fear, but in prayer, obedience, and a renewed desire to walk closely with the Lord Jesus.

God didn’t give us the Bible to scare us, He gave us the Truth of His Word to prepare us for what is coming. Some of the following statements are direct biblical teachings, while others are interpretations connecting biblical prophecies to modern developments but still something to ponder. The Bible foretells many signs that would lead up to the last days. Jesus indicated these signs would arise together as His return drew near (Matthew 24:33-34).

Though many of these prophecies won’t culminate until the tribulation period, our generation is the first to see some of these events fall into place. It is true that some of these signs have been around for thousands of years, but only our generation has witnessed the coming together of the events in the news headlines.

False Bible teachers would bring in heresies, have many followers, and cause others to reject God’s Word (2 Peter 2:1-2). Global communications foreseen (Revelation 11:9-10; 17:8). The use of nuclear weapons anticipated (Zechariah 14:12). Chaotic weather would be prevalent (Luke 21:25-26).

There would be a move toward a global government (Daniel 2:40-44; 7:23; Revelation 13:7-8). Knowledge would increase (Daniel 12:4). Deadly diseases (which the Bible calls pestilences) would be common (Matthew 24:7; Revelation 6:8).

Humanity would become increasingly materialistic and lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God (2 Timothy 3:1-5). There would be a move towards a one-world religion (Revelation 13:8, 12; Revelation 17). Epidemic drug use foreseen (Revelation 9:21). Preparations for a global war anticipated (Joel 3:9-14; Matthew 24:22; Revelation 16:14). My message is not simply to recognize the times, but an encouragement to remain faithful to Christ through them whatever comes our way.

As the final seconds of this age seem to be ticking away, these events and hundreds more from the Bible will come into even clearer focus if you keep your eyes open. There is no comparison in any other document to the prophetic words spoken of in the Scriptures, our Document of Authority.

If these signs alarm you, thank God, because the Lord wants to awaken His children from their spiritual slumber/complacency, and give us eternal life. For all of you who do not know Jesus, please repent of your sins today and place your trust in Him.

Be encouraged, dear hearers, as we go through all that we do by what is written in Matthew 24:13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Wherever you are in your walk with the Lord, there is grace for you to draw near to Him today, and no one is beyond the reach of His mercy when they turn to Him in faith. Let us encourage one another, bear one another’s burdens, and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. May we all be found faithful, filled with His peace, and ready to welcome our Lord, knowing that in Christ, even in uncertain times, our hope remains secure.

As we discern the times, let us examine our own hearts, turn away from what draws us from God, and pursue the holiness to which He calls us. Let us be people of prayer who encourage the weary, extend compassion to those who are hurting, share the Gospel with love, and stand firm in the truth without losing our gentleness. We may not know the day or hour of Christ’s return, but we can live each day faithfully, trusting His promises and shining His light in a world that desperately needs hope.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the truth of Your Word, for Your unfailing promises, and for the hope we have through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Open our eyes to discern the times, guard our hearts against fear and deception, and strengthen our faith so that we may walk in obedience, love, and holiness. Draw those who do not yet know You into Your saving grace, comfort those who are weary, and help us to be lights in this darkened world, sharing Your Gospel with compassion and boldness. Keep us steadfast until the end, Lord, and may we be found faithful, watching and waiting with joyful expectation for the return of our Savior, in whose precious name we pray, Amen.
