My greatest desire is to be with Jesus and take as many people to heaven with me as possible. I look forward to going to heaven every day because I have experienced the love of my Savior and the joy that comes with that. There is nothing in this world that compares to knowing Him personally and walking in the grace, mercy, and peace He so freely gives. Even in seasons when life feels uncertain, I am reminded that His promises remain true, His presence never leaves me, and His love never fails. My heart longs for the day when faith will become sight and I will finally be home with Him forever.

Another part of my desire to go to heaven is not having to deal with the pain of my past, the world’s sin, and then there are times that I am just tired and worn out because of all that is going on in my life. I heard of a question that was asked to a person in despair. “What would you do if you knew for sure that after you go to sleep tonight that you would never wake up again?” The response I read hurt my heart. “Go to bed early.” As I have evaluated that question for myself I think, “Stay up all night spending the time I had left drawing closer to the Lord Jesus and doing whatever I could to share His love with others.” In essence, taking care of my Father’s business and waiting for morning to come.

I believe that there is a purpose for every believer to accomplish before we go to heaven, though. To me, at the heart of every believer’s purpose is to know Jesus more deeply and make Him known to others as much as possible. We all may live that out in different ways, but our lives can all point people toward Him. Charles Spurgeon wrote, “You have never truly found Jesus if you do not tell others about Him”.

I have confidence that there will be a time when He will either come for me or I will go to be with Him. In the present moment, I wait expectantly for Jesus’ return and yet somehow, sad to say, in the flesh, I get distracted. The busyness of life, family, work, friends, ministry, being A.D.H.D. all cause me to get troubled, lose focus and even question my faith at times. Sometimes, the weight of everyday responsibilities can cause us to lose sight of the eternal hope that is ours in Christ. Yet, even when our focus falters, Jesus remains faithful, gently calling us back to Him and reminding us of what truly matters. We do not have to walk this journey perfectly; we simply need to keep turning our hearts toward the One who is perfecting us in every way for He is perfect.

I look at certain verses for encouragement, especially when life gets challenging, and one that I cling to lately is written in John 14:1 “Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and I will take you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. The best part is, Jesus has been preparing a place for each of us for over 2000 years, I am confident that it will be amazing.

Dear hearers, Jesus said He is coming back, and I believe Him. May we encourage one another to remain faithful, keep our eyes on Him, and trust the promises He has given us. As we wait, let us live with eternity in our hearts while remaining faithful in the responsibilities God has entrusted to us today. Let us be intentional about sharing the love of Jesus, offering encouragement to those who are weary, and extending grace to those who are struggling to find their way. We may not always see the fruit of our labor, but we can trust that God is at work even when the results are hidden from us.

Remember with anticipation the words written in 2 Timothy 4:8 In the future there is reserved for me the [victor’s] crown of righteousness [for being right with God and doing right], which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that [great] day—and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved and longed for and welcomed His appearing.

Until that glorious day, may we encourage one another, pray for one another, and remind each other that we are never alone in this journey of faith. There is room in the heart of God for every person who turns to Him, and no one is beyond the reach of His grace, love, and redemption. May our lives reflect the hope of Jesus so brightly that others will come to know Him, and may we all look forward with joy to the day when we will be gathered together in His presence, never to be separated again.

There is a word, Maranatha which means, “Come Quickly Lord Jesus”. MARANATHA my friends. May we continue to answer the call of the Lord to fulfill His plans and purpose for each of our lives, and wait expectantly for His return. Amen.
