There are many aspects of God that we may not truly understand, and one part of Him is about the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus spoke clearly as to who the Holy Spirit is and what He will do for the believer. It is written in John 16:7 But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. and also in Acts 1:8 But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.” The Holy Spirit was never intended to be a distant theological idea, but the very presence of God dwelling within every believer. He leads us into truth, convicts us with love, comforts us in our weakness, and equips us to live lives that reflect the Lord Jesus to our world. When we surrender our hearts completely to Him, we discover that His strength is made perfect in our weakness and His guidance is always faithful. The more we seek His presence, the more our hearts will become aligned with the heart of our Savior. I read a quote by Charles Spurgeon that has caused me to deeply contemplate the heart of certain individuals as well as myself, “It seems odd, that certain men who talk so much of what the Holy Spirit reveals to themselves, should think so little of what he has revealed to others.” May we always remain humble enough to recognize that the Holy Spirit speaks through His Word and through faithful believers whom He has called throughout every generation. Let us encourage one another, sharpen one another, and pursue Christ together with hearts that are teachable, united, and filled with love. The Kingdom of God is not built by isolated believers but by brothers and sisters walking together in the power and unity of the Holy Spirit. May we be known not merely for what we profess with our lips, but for lives transformed by His presence, overflowing with His love, and pointing the world to Jesus Christ. My prayer is sincere: Holy Spirit, please come upon the children of God, fill us to overflowing with Your power. Give us boldness beyond measure to share the love of Jesus with all those around us. Help us to listen to Your direction, that still small voice, and be obedient to step out in faith even when we are unsure of what You are calling us to do. Please take away any and all fear of failure that the enemy has placed in our thoughts. Teach us to trust You more than our own understanding and to depend upon Your wisdom in every circumstance. Demonstrate in us Your power to have and utilize the gifts You have foe each of us as God’s children. Give us the fruit of Your Spirit from love to self-control. Help us to walk in purity of mind, body, and spirit. Help us to truly understand that Jesus did not pay the price that He did for us to enter into a religion, but into a relationship with Him. Help those who have been raised in the church but not in Christ to turn from their useless religion and develop a deep, abiding relationship with You. Please help us to encounter, experience and glorify Jesus in all that we do, in His precious and powerful name we pray, and all of God’s children say, Amen.
My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
