If you knew that someone had the cure for cancer and kept it to themselves, would you be angry? How do you think you would feel knowing that someone you know, cared about, loved, is going to die because of the actions, or really lack of action of another individual or group? In contemplating those thoughts and emotions, there is something far worse than that to be angry about, people who do not take God at His word. There are “Christians” who know the cure for eternal death and separation from God and keep silent and you may even be one of them. How can we claim to love our neighbors while withholding from them the only message that can save their souls from everlasting destruction? It is written in *Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.* Many believe that if a “Christian” lives a good life, it will be enough for others to see and want to know about a Jesus they have not heard about, and yet, this is contrary to the scriptures. A silent witness in a dying world is still silence, and silence has never been the method God ordained to spread the Gospel. Too many professing believers are more concerned with protecting their comfort and reputation than obeying the direct command of Christ to preach repentance and salvation. It is written in *Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?* I think of two quotes by Charles Spurgeon that bring me to reflect on my own actions as well as convict me to action – “Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you’re not saved yourself, be sure of that!” and also, “You have never truly found Jesus if you do not tell others about Him!” Every day countless souls step into eternity, and many of them have never once heard a faithful proclamation of the Gospel from those who claimed to know Christ. The church was never commissioned to blend into the world, but to shine as lights in darkness and proclaim the truth no matter the cost. I have to ask those that keep silent, where is your heart for the love that is supposed to be shared? Why are you keeping silent and not proclaiming to “all” the love that you have for the Lord Jesus if you really have any at all? The fear of man has silenced far too many voices that were commanded by God to cry aloud and spare not. There is no career, relationship, or earthly possession worth more than the souls of men for the glory of God. How much do you actually hate those that you say you care about to not share with them the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ? I want everyone that reads this to know that there are times that I fall short, more times than I would like to admit, and am deeply broken over it. Brethren, as I pray for you I ask humbly that you pray for me as well, time is short, Jesus is coming back sooner than later. We cannot continue living as though eternity is distant while the world rushes headlong toward judgment. One final thought, if you are one of those who are trying to proclaim and are told by your employer, family, or community not to, pray fervently over what is written in *Acts 4:18 So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”* In simple terms my brethren, Preach It, may our gracious God give us all boldness, Jesus is coming back soon, and may God have mercy on those that do not take Him at His word! Let us be found faithful when we stand before the Lord, having proclaimed His truth without compromise or shame as often as possible. May we stop making excuses and instead burn with urgency to warn the lost and glorify Christ while there is still breath in our lungs. The days are evil, the hour is late, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ must be preached boldly before it is too late. This is not a call to take people “to church” for a pastor to give a TedTalk with an invitation to have Jesus in your heart, it is a call for authentic repentance and not easy believism. It is time for the “Church”, the saints, to take the gospel to the world that we live in for we are the hands and feet of Christ. Amen? Closing thought is from A.W. Tozer – “Modern religion focuses on filling churches with people. The true Gospel emphasizes filling people with God.”
My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
