I feel led to apologize to anyone that has taken offense by the devotionals that I have written and/or questions that I ask, and also need to clarify a few things. To be clear, I do not share what I do to please you. I try to live my life to please God and follow His leading in all that I do, including the devotionals that I share, and the words that I speak. My heart is to warn those who will listen of the trouble to come, the power of sin, but more importantly to encourage the church body to draw closer to God in these dark and trying times. I know that truth is not always comfortable to hear, but truth spoken in love is still necessary no matter how painful it may be. We are living in a generation where many people would rather be affirmed in their feelings than confronted with God’s Word. Yet I believe the greatest act of love is to point people toward repentance, grace, and the saving power of Jesus Christ. If the Lord places something on my heart to share, I cannot remain silent simply because it may be unpopular or misunderstood. It has never been my purpose to offend, but yet again, it has also never been my intent “not” to offend. I have come to see that Biblical Christianity is unpopular and that Popular Christianity is unBiblical. I do want to make something perfectly clear, the Bible, God’s Word is my document of authority for my life, and the topics I write about are some of the trials and tribulations going on in my life or the lives of others that I know and care about. There are many people that read the words that I write and are moved with compassion and understanding, some are believers and some are not. Over time, there have been a few people that have gotten carried away with their own worldly and godless thoughts and opinions that caused division and arguments. Some of these people were rude, crude, and socially unacceptable, and did not want to “reason” from the scriptures but only argue about them. A few of these individuals I have had to remove as “friends” and others I had to block completely. For those that are offended, if you have questions or comments, please give me an opportunity to clarify and explain before you get upset and go off in a huff. My life goal is to apply Biblical application in every aspect of my life. In my interactions I try to model my life by the Word of God and try to adhere to what is written in it. I have been deeply moved by what is written in *Acts 17:2 Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them (Thessalonicans), and for three Sabbaths reasoned (engaged in discussion and friendly debate) with them from the Scriptures…* After an assault, Paul and Silas were sent to Berea to further the ministry they were called to. It is written in *Acts 17:11 These (Bereans) were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.* The apostle Paul went to “reason from the scriptures”, and the Bereans “searched the scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” May these be the practice of all of God’s children as we are called to study the Word, share the truth found in it, and walk in Love with all those who cross our paths. In Jesus name, Amen. Final thought, everyone has an opinion and more times than not, they are not Biblically based, may have been taught from a pulpit but not founded in the Word. Most people today can quote movie stars, actors, politicians, and sports figures more than they can a Bible verse or an encouraging quote from an established theologian. My heartfelt plea is that we would spend more time seeking the face of God than chasing the voices and opinions of this world. I pray that hearts would be softened and awakened to the truth of Scripture before the distractions and deception of this age pull them further away from the Lord. I really like what Charles Spurgeon said, “A little faith will bring your soul to heaven; a great faith will bring heaven to your soul.” And as for me, I will continue to stand on the truth of God’s Word regardless of the opinions of man. I would rather be criticized for speaking the truth in love than praised for remaining silent in compromise. My prayer is that every word I share points people not to myself, but to the Lord Jesus, the only true source of hope, peace, and salvation.
My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
Special Note: I want to thank those who read what I write and are encouraged to support the ministry God has entrusted to me either one time or have decided to give on a monthly basis. I am encouraged to see certain verses playing out before my eyes like what is written in *Philippians 4:16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.*
