Do you ever wonder how God sees you, how others see you, and then have to deal with how you see yourself? There are many individuals in scripture that had great things said about them and then there are some that made major mistakes along the way and still ended up with God’s grace. Job served God no matter what he went through with honor. It is written in Job1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God [with reverence] and abstained from and turned away from evil [because he honored God]. There was David, who was a man that had great things said about him as seen written in *1 Samuel 16:18 One of the young men said, “Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who is a skillful musician, a brave and competent man, a warrior, discerning (prudent, eloquent) in speech, and a handsome man; and the Lord is with him.”* and even though he made some mistakes along the way, he made his relationship right with God through genuine repentance. We can also look at John the Baptist, who was a great man in the eyes of Jesus and stayed that way till the end of his life. It is written in *Matthew 11:11 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist…* Jesus also said, “yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater [in privilege] than he.” To be right with God is something that can be challenging, but through the examples in the scriptures, we can come to understand that it can be accomplished, with the Lord’s help. The same God that created the heavens and earth, the same God that helped the men mentioned here to be who they were is the same God who will help us today. We cannot be sinless until we get to heaven, but we are called to sin less. The battle is fierce, we must remember that we are fighting from victory, not for victory. Stay strong my brethren! I will pray for you and ask that you pray for me as well. My BeLoved, may the grace of the Lord Jesus, and the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.
