Some of us are celebrating all that was accomplished last year, and many are celebrating that 2022 is over. As we look over the last year, we have all had a variety of experiences, some we want to remember, new friendships, new job, opportunities for school, and there are many that we want to forget, the death of a loved one, family hardship, failure due to sin. God has allowed many of us to see and experience things that we may have been blind to, or not wanted to know, how quickly life can change. I like what is written in *Psalms 90:12 Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.* The brevity of life is a stubborn and undeniable fact. An understanding that our days are ordained by God with no guarantee of tomorrow should lead us to live life differently. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it’s called, “The present”! My goal and  desire today is to invest in things that have eternal value…things that will outlive me. It’s not about leaving an inheritance; it’s all about leaving a legacy for the kingdom. Beloved, I pray that during this year we may all live nearer to Christ than any of us have ever done before knowing that at any moment we may see Him face to face. What it all comes down to is one simple truth, today we are all another day closer to heaven or hell than we were yesterday. What difference are you willing to make today? May we live every moment and savor it to the glory of God…this life is not a dress rehearsal!
