A simple question, “Do you serve Jesus the same way, with the same enthusiasm, as you served “Sin” before you met Jesus?” Most days I can say “without a doubt.” Then there are some days where I can honestly say “No, I don’t.” I look at how regularly I did drugs, went out to the bar, hung out with the less desirables of my world, and think about all the time that I wasted doing activities with no eternal value. Since becoming a Christian, I have been devoting more time to reading the word, prayer, and the work of the kingdom, but my question to myself continues to be, “Am I doing enough? Is my heart really any different?” I look at what is written in *Psalms 96:3 Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples.* and also in *Mark 16:15 And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race]*, and think, is this what I am doing on a regular basis, do my own neighbors know that I am a Christ follower? This is a self-examination of where I am in Christ and not a finger pointing at anyone else. I have prayed about today being Super Bowl Sunday and all that is associated with it. There will be many that are more excited about watching “The Game” than having fellowship with other believers before the Lord. The truth of the matter is that I seem to waste more time watching news clips and Netflix than investing my time in reading my Bible and fellowshipping with my Lord. I am embarrassed to admit that there are people who serve a false god, that go door to door with more enthusiasm and energy, than I, who serve the One True and Living God. There are two quotes by Charles Spurgeon that give me clarity about my relationship with the Lord Jesus. “If Christ is not all to you He is nothing to you. He will never go into partnership as a part Saviour of men. If He be something He must be everything, and if He be not everything He is nothing to you.” and “You have never truly found Jesus if you do not tell others about him.” Beloved, today, may we show the people around us who Jesus is and all that He has done for the world. There is one verse that I have taken to heart a lot lately found in *Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.* My Brethren, pray for me to “Not” love my life to the death, but live my life to the glory of God every day as I pray that same thing for all who read these words, in Jesus’ precious and powerful name, Amen.
My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
