There are so many questions that we all must deal with every day. My personal questions are, what do I want to be remembered for, my pursuit of God or my appetite for sin? What do others see in me, Jesus or the world? Who am I living to please, myself or the Lord Jesus? Ultimately, is my life about my dreams and desires or is it about God’s will, plan, and purpose for me to accomplish? For many, we boast about our homes, our jobs, our family, and so many other things. I am deeply convicted when I read what is written in *Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.* We are to boast in nothing else but the cross of Christ and yet how many of us can stand firm on what is written in *1 Corinthians 2:2 for I made the decision to know nothing [that is, to forego philosophical or theological discussions regarding inconsequential things and opinions while] among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified [and the meaning of His redemptive, substitutionary death and His resurrection].” A.W. Tozer said, “If I see aright, the cross of popular evangelicalism is not the cross of the New Testament. It is, rather, a new bright ornament upon the bosom of a self-assured and carnal Christianity. The old cross slew men; the new cross entertains them. The old cross condemned; the new cross amuses. The old cross destroyed confidence in the flesh; the new cross encourages it.” I know for myself that there have been more times than I care to admit that I have gotten distracted from the purpose I believe that God has called me to and because of my shortcomings, my character defects, and that is why I pray, Dear Heavenly Father, please help me as well as all of Your children who read these words remember the Cross and preach the Gospel to our lost and sinful world. Help us to empty ourselves of ourselves everyday, and fill us with Your Holy Spirit to fulfill Your objectives for each of us, in Jesus’ precious and powerful name, and all of God’s people said, Amen.
My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
