WHO is Jesus to YOU? Is He Lord of lords and King of kings, or is He just Jesus? For me, there have been times in my life that Jesus has become common, normal, just like anyone else I spend time with, but this is not how I know it should be. Jesus fulfilled over 300 old testament prophecies. We can see the Lord Jesus’ future written about in His past as in *Isaiah 53:2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. 9 And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. 11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.* One thing I can see with our Shepherd is that He smelt like His sheep. The Lord Jesus was not a hireling like so many in the pulpits today. His life of sacrifice challenges me to live my life differently day in and day out. As we look a little further on in Biblical history we can see that on the day of His birth, it was announced by angels that He is more than what anyone expected. It is written in *Luke 2:11 For this day in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (the Messiah).* In Romans it is stated how we are to be saved by Jesus. It is written in *Romans 10:9 because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.* In Colossians, it is written how believers are to live their lives, *Colossians 3:17 Whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus [and in dependence on Him], giving thanks to God the Father through Him.* Jesus is who the scriptures say He is, God, and yet I know that there are times that I have separated His humanity from His deity. I am convicted by the words of Charles Spurgeon, “If Christ be anything he must be everything. O rest not till love and faith in Jesus be the master passions of your soul!” Jesus is my Lord, I may not always reflect it as I should, but I tell you all today, I am going to do my best to live like it and proclaim the “Lord Jesus” to everyone I can for the rest of my life for the time is short and the Lord’s coming is at hand. Who else is with me?
My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
