Not everyone who dies will “Rest In Peace.” Over the years the music world sang about people’s eternal destiny by the way they lived their lives as far back as the 1970’s. Bob Dylan sang, “You’re gonna have to serve somebody, Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord, But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.” And even the young at heart have most likely heard that there is a “Highway to Hell” and a “Stairway to Heaven.” The majority of the world, for some odd reason, believe that just about everyone is going to go to heaven, when in truth, the Bible teaches the very opposite and that very few will make it. It is written in *Matthew 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and spacious and broad and easy to travel is the path that leads the way to destruction and eternal loss, and there are many who enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow (contracted by pressure) and difficult to travel is the path that leads to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it.* I don’t know why the majority of society believe that people can live a life of pride, selfishness, and arrogance about not wanting God in their life and think that those aforementioned people would want to go to heaven after they die to be with the same God they blasphemed most of their earthly existence. In reality everyone wants to go to heaven, they just don’t want the God of the Bible to be there when they arrive. A little while back I asked friends on FaceBook for the first names of people that they know who are not saved. One response was, “I will not judge anyone. I would not name anyone because possibly they have been born again and I do not know that.” First off, if a person is “Born Again” everyone will know, it is not a subtle change, it is noticeable, and more than that it should be drastic. And if a person is Born Again and you ask others to pray for them there is only added blessing, and if they are not Born Again then they are genuinely in need of prayer. Either way, it’s a win-win, and also loving them in a way that can have eternal consequences. The Lord said plainly in *John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”* Unless a person is Born Again they will end up in hell and never ever Resting In Peace. The words of Charles Spurgeon have helped me to be more fervent in prayer and action. He said, “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” I am not giving my opinion but only telling what the Scriptures declare: Life is short, Death is real, Hell is hot, Eternity is long, and Only Jesus Saves. My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
