For those that don’t know much about my past, I have been in the automotive field for over 40 years. Eight years ago today was my last day at A&M Shell as the service manager there. I remember the events that led up to that day like it was yesterday. At the beginning of November of 2017, as I was praying, I was given clear direction as to what I was supposed to do in the next season of my life. At 53 years old I was to stop working and go to Pima Community College to study Social Work and Substance Abuse Disorder. I had a little bit of savings and trusted that where God guides He provides. Over the years I have come to understand how God speaks to me, and that is primarily because of what is written in *1 Kings 19:11…And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.* As I studied Elijah’s ministry, I ended up comparing it to what the Lord has led me to do over the years. I never experienced the grander things or exceptional and noble callings, but I have heard the still small voice many times saying “Go”, so I go. I was at Pima College for three and a half years. In that time, I was able to share Jesus in one way or another to at least one person in every one of my classes. At one point I shared the clear presentation of the Gospel to a class from a podium and got extra points for doing it. I am thankful to God that He gave me that opportunity for my wilderness experience because that is where I saw my faith grow the most. The one thing that baffled me more than just about anything else is the place I was not welcomed or received and that was in the Christian club, never really knew why, but even though my classmates were leaning more to the left they listened to what I was sharing more so than those who I thought I was on the same page with. One of the greatest blessings was figuring out those who were willing to support me along the way, financially, emotionally, and more importantly spiritually through their prayers and encouragement, you are truly my Beloved. I have been away from school for about five years now and in this season I have been blessed in being able to be actively involved “full-time” with family, as I live with my older daughter and her husband, and being blessed to watch over her four children not only grow up, but grow closer to the Lord every day. This is the “job” I wish I would have had a long time ago, lol. Truly investing into the kingdom where I can see the fruit today. God is amazing and I rejoice in the blessing that He has given me at this season of my life. I am not sure what the future holds but I know Who holds my future in His hands and I trust Him, cling to Him, and rely on Him for everything more and more every day. I am also waiting expectantly to hear His direction for the next season of my life and pray that I am willing to be obedient no matter what that may be. I often reflect on what Charles Spurgeon said, “When your will is God’s will, you will have your will.” and that is my prayer. My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog

Special Note: I want to thank those who read what I write and are encouraged to support the ministry God has entrusted to me either one time or have decided to give on a monthly basis. I am encouraged to see certain verses playing out before my eyes like what is written in *Philippians 4:16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.*
