As I look at the very first relationship documented in the scriptures, the one between God and Adam, I see the struggle that I face and for the most part, this struggle is one that all mankind faces on a regular basis. It is written in *Genesis 3:6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.* As I read what Adam did, I understand what it is to say to God, this_____that I love, is more important than what Your Word says and even my relationship with You. Adam was not deceived, he knew what he was doing. I understand the consequences to his sin because I have dealt with consequences to my own sin for similar reasons. God asked Adam a simple question and the I believe it was relational and not positional, as seen written in *Genesis 3:9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”* Many pastors teach that Adam blamed Eve for his sin where I lean more on the point of Adam was accepting his part in the situation. It is written in *Genesis 3:12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”* No matter what was behind it, the outcome was the same. It is written in *Genesis 3:23 therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden…* The relationship with God had been damaged, and from personal experience it is never worth it. Charles Spurgeon said,  “Christians can never sin cheaply; they pay a heavy price for iniquity. Transgression destroys peace of mind, obscures fellowship with Jesus, hinders prayer, brings darkness over the soul; therefore be not the serf and bondman of sin.” I often reflect on what is written in *Isaiah 59:1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short That it cannot save, Nor His ear so impaired That it cannot hear. 2 But your wickedness has separated you from your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.* Beloved, know that whatever your_____is that you put between you and God, it will never fulfill your desires, needs, flesh, life, like an intimate relationship with the One True and Living God. Dear Lord Jesus, I am so sorry that I put______between us. I am sorry that I let ______ have more priority in my life than You. Heavenly Father, please forgive me, a sinner who has put _____ between You and me. Holy Spirit, I want to Abide with You completely and yet I seem to continually fall short. Heavenly Father, please give me the ability to keep You at the forefront of my thoughts and not let _____ get between us ever again, in Jesus name, Amen. My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
