I want to start off today by letting those who read the devotionals that I publish to know that I pray for you. I wholeheartedly pray for the Grace and Peace of our loving God to be with all of you who love our Lord Jesus with genuine sincerity and commitment. As I witness all that is going on around the world and how Christians are being attacked my heart is drawn more to the word of God everyday searching for truth. As much as the enemy tries to confuse the saints, I believe that the word of God has not changed from the day it was written, the hearts of those who read what is written and listen to those who preach definitely have. Fear has become the new religion and the trepidation of what may be coming has set in motion an apprehensive nervousness that is overwhelming to all those that do not trust in, rely on, and cling to Jesus. Whether or not it is accepted or not, the Bible seems to provide a more profound and timeless truth than the daily news these days. I want all who read this to know that in writing it, I have evaluated my own actions before God, and found myself guilty of having a lack of reverence to His word. When others are leading in prayer, worship is going on, when the word of God goes out, I have not been as reverent as I believe I should be. I am distracted, I get busy greeting people coming into service, catching up with friends, being distant more than attentive. I am convicted by what is written in *Nehemiah 8:1 And all the people gathered as one man at the square which was in front of the Water Gate, and they asked Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses which the Lord had given to Israel. 2 Then Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly of men, women and all who could listen with understanding, on the first day of the seventh month. 3 He read from it before the square which was in front of the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of men and women, those who could understand; and all the people were attentive to the book of the law.* For me it must start at the pulpits. My challenge is that it seems there are more stories told from many pulpits than the word of God is shared. It becomes more of a building project, building one story on top of another one, more than it is about the application of a portion of Holy Scripture for the edification of the Saints. My question to all who are reading this today is, how attentive are you to the Scriptures when they are read? Is reading the Bible a priority in your life or just filler, something to fill moments when time permits, or maybe only when trials and tribulations come your way and overwhelm you, if even that? Charles Spurgeon wrote, “If we want revivals, we must revive our reverence for the Word of God. If we want conversions, we must put more of God’s Word into our sermons.” My friends, we must be serious about the Word of God, show reverence, and be attentive when it is spoken. We must hide His Word in our hearts and live out His Word through every aspect of our lives. I challenge myself and all who read these words to do just that. My BeLoved, may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog

I am encouraged to see certain verses playing out before my eyes like what is written in *Philippians 4:16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.*
