“A little boy came home from Sunday School and his mother asked him what he had learned. He answered, “We learned that Moses went behind enemy lines and freed the Israelites. Then he took army engineers and built a pontoon bridge across the Red Sea. Then when the Egyptian tank division started across the bridge he called in dive bombers and blew them to bits.” His mother looked at him and said, “IS THAT WHAT YOUR SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER IS TEACHING YOU?” The little boy answered, “Well, no mom, but if I told you what she taught us there’s no way you would believe it!” (Author known to God) There are many parts of Bible history that we look at and think, “Really?” I remember how amazing, spectacular, miraculous, as well as unbelievable it was when I first read what is written in *Exodus 14:6 So he (Pharaoh) made ready his chariot and took his people with him.16 But (Moses) lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. 20 So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other… 25 And He took off their chariot wheels…27 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.* The lessons we learn in this chapter teach about the importance and dependence on God’s leading, salvation, judgment, justification, and sanctification. We must remember that resilience is often born out of struggle, as seen in the Israelites’ determination to persevere through hardships such as hunger, thirst, and fear during their desert wanderings. As we read through the Bible may we look at God’s consistency in the lives of those He loves and pay attention to how He saves his people each step along the way. I pray that this brings light to our understanding of how God works in our lives day in and day out, especially behind the scenes. As we make God the center of our world, the fear of trials, tribulation, and even death should fade as He brings his people into a new life with the promise of peace. There are many people that do NOT believe that the Word of God is truth and that it is just made up stories. Brethren, as we look to the history throughout the scriptures, we see that our God is The God of the impossible, and if He can part the Red Sea to save the people of Israel, do you think that there is anything too big for Him to do for you today? My Brethren, may our God richly bless all you who read these words with what He wants you to have and may you see that it is God who did it. My BeLoved, may the grace of the Lord Jesus, and the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
