I read that “Expectation is the root of all heartache.” Have you ever had a friend that said they would call you and doesn’t? How about when you text them and there is no response? Sometimes it is because of their busy schedule, but for the most part, I have seen it also where it is just their nature. The most powerful and impactful response that someone can give is no response at all because that is a response in itself. Silence speaks a thousand words – all we need to do is listen to the silence. Silence tells us what words don’t. God is so much different. He wants us to call to Him and He says that He will respond as seen written in *Jeremiah 33:3 ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.’* Another example is found in the parable of a widow going before an unjust judge continually where she began to weary him. Afterward it is written in *Luke 18:7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?* God’s heart is to be there for us especially when people aren’t. We can see this as we look at what written in *Matthew 7:7 “Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened.* Lack of response is a powerful response that tells you a lot about a person’s life, their perspective on things, and their intentions towards you. I have learned that the words of my enemies are not as impactful to me as the silence of my friends. I have been told by others that some people have been asking them about me because of what I share and post. The strange thing is that only one or two have actually come to me and asked me about what I am going through to see how they can come alongside my family and I to help us, and it is not even the ones who told me that others are concerned. I guess they just wanted to give me information and not care enough about providing any type of support. I have come to understand that I should never expect from people that which only God is willing to do, to trust that He cares about me beyond measure and that He will never break that trust. My Brethren, remember if it is important to them, they will find a way, if not, they will come up with every excuse in the book. Pay attention to those who do come to you with a torch on a dark night for those are the ones who genuinely care for you, and be sure to thank them for those types of people are rare. My BeLoved, may the grace of the Lord Jesus, and the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
