Have you ever honestly contemplated what a wasted life really looks like? There are people in our world that only look out for themselves and not the interest of others. I have been told that I seem to care more about the lives of those I interact with and their eternal destinies than I care about my own personal needs, wants or desires, and I am good with that. I over-think, I over-feel, I also over-love, and those are only a few of the challenges that I face on a regular basis. I have been told by some outside of Christendom that these are only a few of my faults and continue to degrade and belittle me from there. Since becoming a Christian, whenever I have seen a need, especially for the body of Christ I have always tried to fill it the best I could, however I could, whenever I could. My purpose in life has become to help as many people as I can to be closer to the Lord Jesus, to let the world around me know that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and the Lord Jesus is the “only way” to heaven. The main reason I reach out to others so much, especially to the lost and the broken, is because I didn’t really have anyone reach out to me when I was lost and broken. As I read through the scriptures I can see that Jesus spent His whole life engaging with the people that most of today’s “church” spend their whole existence trying to avoid. There is a video that I have watched multiple times that is on YouTube entitled, “Experience the Bema! The judgment seat of Christ” and have been led to pray fervently over what is written in *2 Corinthians 5:9 Therefore, whether we are at home [on earth away from Him] or away from home [and with Him], we are constantly ambitious and strive earnestly to be pleasing to Him. 10 For we [believers will be called to account and] must all appear before the judgment (Bema) seat of Christ, so that each one may receive [his pay] according to what he has done in the body, whether good or evil [considering what his purpose and motive have been, be held responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives—the use or misuse of his time, opportunities and abilities and what he has achieved, been busy with, and given himself and his attention to accomplishing]. 11 Therefore, being conscious of fearing the Lord with respect and reverence [and understand the importance of obedience and worship], we seek to win people over, we persuade people [to be reconciled to Him]. But we are plainly known to God [He knows everything about us]; and I hope that we are plainly recognized and thoroughly understood also by your consciences [your God-given discernment].* I read something that helped me have a better decision making structure for my time, “If you don’t have time for things that matter, stop doing things that don’t.” When I leave this world, my prayer is that there will be at least one person who can honestly say that they were able to see Jesus’ reflection in me and that because of that, it made a difference in their life for their eternity. I like what Charles Spurgeon said, “I feel that, if I could live a thousand lives, I would like to live them all for Christ; and I should even then feel that they were all too little a return for His great love to me!” Closing thought, the average Christian attending church services weekly for 30 years will sing over 7800 songs, will listen to tens-of-thousands of Bible verses, hear 1560 sermons, but somewhere between the altar and the door they will forget what a disciples life is all about. Somehow they lose what they heard in their Sunday attendance and do not integrate it into their Monday routine. Most will never share what they heard at church because they just went to a building to visit friends and have a little fellowship to feel better about themselves every week. The majority will not share with anyone who crosses their path in their sphere of influence because of apathy and not understanding the true meaning of the Cross and the reality of hell. My Brethren, there are worse things than death. A wasted life is to live without a heavenly purpose, or having not done anything to further the kingdom in the few years that we are given, that is what a wasted life looks like. My BeLoved, may the grace of the Lord Jesus, and the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
