Have you ever been told that you were valued? And then thought, what exactly does that mean, to be valued? Feelings of being acknowledged and appreciated, “valued,” should be the norm for everyone, and yet in most relationships it is not. To be valued means that you are recognized for your participation in another person’s life and the blessings of your presence in it. That you have noticeable significance in your thoughts, actions, and the way that you care about others. It means that you are respected, and how you feel, what you go through, and your needs matter to the person that values you. Many people don’t know how to respond when another person is willing to genuinely acknowledge the value that they bring to the life of another. At times, it is as if it triggers a fight or flight response. I have prayed over what is written in *1 Corinthians 13:4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails…* When a person loves another in these ways, it is the literal meaning of what “to be valued” is all about. Understanding that “Valuable” means something is likely to have value to a lot of people, is one thing. To be “Valued” means that you are definitely treasured by certain individuals. There are times though, when you may have to walk away from who you value because the other person doesn’t see your worth. Something else to think about, there is a difference between being liked and being valued. A lot of people may like you, the real question is, how many value you and show you that they are thankful that you are in their lives? The sad part of life is that sometimes we never learn the true value of a person in our lives until they are gone forever. My BeLoved, may the grace of the Lord Jesus, and the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
