Dear heavenly Father, I come humbly before Your throne and lay my life before You. I know that tomorrow is not promised, so I ask You to lead me and guide me today to do Your will and not my own in any way. I surrender all of who I am and all that You have done in me and ask You to guide me to use every step I take for Your glory. Help me to seek holiness and not happiness. You see what I can’t so I ask You to open my eyes to see Your plans and my heart to do Your will no matter what that might be. Help me to serve You well and make the most of the time that I have left, for this life is short and goes by so very fast. Please give me the strength that I need to endure the plight that my heart is in and find the blessings and lessons that it contains. If You won’t change my situation, please continue to change my heart so that I can be steadfast in whatever situation I am in. Please help me to be obedient to continue on the path that You have prepared for me no matter how uncomfortable it may be at times. Please guide my thoughts, words, and actions, so that I show love, grace, and mercy to the world around me as You have shown it to me. Help take away the bitterness that overtakes me and make me better. On the days when I trip and stumble to the points of frustration and tears, I thank You for Your reminder to me that is written in *James 1:12 Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor’s] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.* When others hear stories of my past, help them to understand why I am who I am today, and it is all because of what You have done in my life. Thank You for using a broken person like me to help other broken people like me. Help me not put off till tomorrow anything that You want me to take care of today. Thank You for putting the people You have in my life who help me laugh, feel loved, bring joy to my life, those who help strengthen my faith, bring peace and blessings to my family, and most importantly draw me closer to the Lord Jesus, for those types of people are rare. Help me to love not only the lovable but the ones that have hurt me, and those who deeply challenge me and are offensive as well. As I do my best to live my life today to glorify You help me to embrace the words of John Newton as he said, “I am not what I ought to be, I am not what I want to be, I am not what I hope to be in another world; but still I am not what I once used to be, and by the grace of God I am what I am”. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, Amen. My BeLoved, may the grace of the Lord Jesus, and the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
