There are many aspects of God that we may not truly understand, and one part of Him is about the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus spoke clearly as to who the Holy Spirit is and what He will do for the believer. It is written in *John 16:7 But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you].* and also in *Acts 1:8 But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”* My prayer is simple: Holy Spirit, please come upon the children of God, fill us to overflowing with Your power. Give us boldness beyond measure to share the love of Jesus with all those around us. Help us to listen to Your direction, that still small voice, and be obedient to step out in faith even when we are unsure of what You are calling us to do. Please take away any and all fear of failure that the enemy has placed in our thoughts. Demonstrate in us Your power to have words of wisdom, knowledge, healing, miracles, prophecy, tongues and interpretation. Give us the fruit of Your Spirit from love to self-control. Help us to walk in purity of mind, body, and spirit. Help us to truly understand that Jesus did not pay the price that He did for us to enter into a religion, but into a relationship with Him. Help those who have been raised in the church but not in Christ to turn from their useless religion and develop a deep, abiding relationship with You. Please help us to encounter, experience and glorify Jesus in all that we do, in His precious and powerful name we pray, and all of God’s children say, Amen. I read a quote by Charles Spurgeon that has caused me to deeply contemplate the heart of certain individuals as well as myself, “It seems odd, that certain men who talk so much of what the Holy Spirit reveals to themselves, should think so little of what he has revealed to others.” My Beloved, may the grace of the Lord Jesus, and the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
