I want to say Thank You to all who have prayed for me and/or reached out to encourage me not knowing what is really going on in my life. For some, you know that I go through a variety of challenges on a regular basis, physically, emotionally, organizationally, financially, but most of all spiritually. Most days I feel defeated more times than not, but I do want all who read what I share to know that there has never been a day that I forget that I belong to God and that He is Sovereign. I have been asked as to why I praise Him the way I do after all that I have been through. The reason is simple, it is because I know that He has been with me every step of the way. I often pray over what is written in *James 1:2 Consider it nothing but joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials. 3 Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace]. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing.* I know who I am. I am God’s man. I am not my own. I owe Jesus my service, worship, praise, every aspect of my very life. I have been through way too much to not worship Him. There is an irony in worshiping God and living for Him, because it may require painful sacrifice, while somehow leading to blessings and incomparable abundant peace. I read, “At my lowest, God is my hope. At my darkest, God is my light. At my weakest, God is my strength. At my saddest, God is my comforter.” My prayer in this season is simple, “Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for looking deeper in me than what others see, and for seeing my potential to glorify You especially when I don’t. Please help me trust that You want me just as I am today and have a plan to mold me, change me, transform me into the person I need to be, into the image of Your Son by the power of the Holy Spirit, so You can use me to further Your kingdom. Help me to trust You and Your plan for my life when I can’t see clearly. Help the world around me to see the Lord Jesus’ reflection in me. Help all who read this to understand Your plan and purpose for their lives as well. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name we pray, and all of God’s children say, Amen. In Christ Love, douglas.
