I feel led to apologize to anyone that has taken offense by the devotionals that I have written and/or questions that I ask, and also need to clarify a few things. To be clear, I do not share what I do to please you. I try to live my life to please God and follow His leading in all that I do, including the devotionals that I share. My heart is to warn those who will listen of the trouble to come, the power of sin, but more importantly to encourage the church to draw closer to God in these dark and trying times. It has never been my purpose to offend, but yet again, it has also never been my intent “not” to offend. I do want to make something perfectly clear, the Bible, God’s Word is my document of authority for my life, and the topics I write about are some of the trials and tribulations going on in my life or the lives of others that I know and care about. There are many people that read the words that I write and are moved with compassion and understanding, some are believers and some are not. Over time, there have been a few people that have gotten carried away with their own worldly and godless thoughts and opinions that caused division and arguments. Some of these people were rude, crude, and socially unacceptable, and did not want to “reason” from the scriptures but only argue about them. A few of these individuals I have had to remove as “friends” and others I had to block completely. For those that are offended, if you have questions or comments, please give me an opportunity to clarify and explain before you get upset and go off in a huff. My life goal is to apply Biblical application in every aspect of my life. In my interactions I try to model my life by the Word of God and try to adhere to what is written in it. I have been deeply moved by what is written in *Acts 17:2 Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them (Thessalonicans), and for three Sabbaths reasoned (engaged in discussion and friendly debate) with them from the Scriptures…* After an assault, Paul and Silas were sent to Berea to further the ministry they were called to. It is written in *Acts 17:11 These (Bereans) were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.* The apostle Paul went to “reason from the scriptures”, and the Bereans “searched the scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” May these be the practice of all of God’s children as we are called to study the Word, share the truth found in it, and walk in Love with all those who cross our paths. In Jesus name, Amen. Final thought, everyone has an opinion and more times than not, they are not Biblically based. Most people today can quote movie stars, actors, politicians, and sports figures more than they can a Bible verse or an encouraging quote from an established theologian. I really like what Charles Spurgeon said, “A little faith will bring your soul to heaven; a great faith will bring heaven to your soul.” In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
