I first want to thank all of you, my beloved, for your thoughts and prayers, they are working. After a few days of being bedridden I am coming out the other side of what has been a strange journey. I am not exactly sure what the cause was, but it has knocked me down pretty good. The children are now being affected one by one it seems so prayers are appreciated for them. My daughter Tiasia and my son-in-law DJ have taken good care of me, and the children have been loving and caring and more impactfully praying over me. Thieodore’s prayer was, “Dear God, please help Pa to get better and not die!” I listened to the sound of coughing throughout the night instead of the sound of silence. We are thankful for answered prayers from a faithful God. The sad part for me is that last night the girls had their awards ceremony for American Heritage Girls and I missed it, but they were understanding. Over the years I have learned to pray as fervently in the good times as I do in the bad because of certain Bible verses like what is written in *1 John 5:14 This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us.* My prayer is to be in God’s will however He sees fit. I have experienced God in times of ease and that has been a great blessing, but there has never been a time when I have not seen God work when I have prayed in my times of adversity, and to me that has always been a greater blessing. Lately adversity has become commonplace in my life. The day before I got sickI remember encouraging someone to endure through their struggles and then in one moment I prayed to go home. I thought “Enough Already” and then more came my way. All of a sudden a lot more came my way. The priorities in life change when your health comes into question. Now that I am on the other side, it is time to get back to ministering to those in need.  Please continue to pray for me and my family as we walk by faith, trusting in, relying on, and clinging to our Lord and Savior, in Jesus’ precious and powerful name, Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
