Lately ministry has been challenging for me. It appears to be more in the spiritual realm than anything else. There seems to be cyclical conversations that keep recurring, probably because some situations are so common among men. The people I talk with are dealing with everything from the death of a loved one, marriage difficulties, health challenges, substance abuse issues, and just plain trials and tribulations of the world. Through the many conversations, I have heard the words, “I am going to pray about it” which is good, but what I have not heard as much is, “I am going to be obedient to God’s Word about it as well.” I have been able to plant some seeds with certain individuals who are at a distance from Jesus without much evidence of a positive outcome. A little while ago I went to visit a friend that I met in college a few years back. They said that they needed some advice on some things and they had a few questions. I wasn’t sure about what, but I felt compelled to invest the time to find out. At first there was good conversation about what has been going on in our lives and then came the real talk, “What does it take to be a Christian?” We discussed the Romans Road to Salvation in detail. I shared what is written in *Romans 3:10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one*/*Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God*/*Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.*/*Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.*/Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.*/*Romans 10:13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.* By the end of the night they had received a clear presentation of the Gospel, and then came the moment that I have prayed about for them for years, they understood what they were told and made the decision to follow Jesus as Lord and have Him be their Savior. I was blessed to be able to witness what is written about in *2 Corinthians 6:2 For He says, “At the acceptable time (the time of grace) I listened to you, And I helped you on the day of salvation.” Behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation”* I have been blessed to be able to share the truth of the Gospel to many that have never heard it, but rarely have been the one to reap much of a harvest, and that time I was. I pray often over the word of some dead saints like what Charles Spurgeon said, “Let this be to you the mark of true gospel preaching – where Christ is everything, and the creature is nothing; where it is salvation all of grace, through the work of the Holy Spirit applying to the soul the precious blood of Jesus.” Praise God for His faithfulness to allow me to witness a Harvest of One precious soul. Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
