HE IS RISEN! These are probably 3 of the most important words ever spoken and yet I am sure that to many, these are words with little to no value, meaning or purpose. I know for myself, I lived that way for most of my life. I remember getting dressed up, going to church on “Easter” Sunday, just to steal enough time from my life for the food to cook so that we could go eat, and then do whatever we wanted without any other focus on God. Since becoming a true follower of the Lord Jesus, I look to the importance of the scriptures and understand why the words were written in *Luke 24:5…“Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’”* Without the “Resurrection” the crucifixion would have no importance. Jesus would just be another guy to die on the cross. The reason the resurrection of Jesus Christ matters so much is that it is the bedrock not only of our faith but also for our hope for eternity. Brethren and friends, may all those who cross our path encounter a joyful spirit in us because of the Love of our risen Savior who daily inscribes His grace and mercy on the hearts of mankind. I desire to have more boldness as well as humbleness because of what is written in *Philippians 3:8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.* Today may we reflect on the single most important event of all time and be able to confess with confidence, HE HAS RISEN INDEED!
