What does today’s widespread acceptance of abortion tell us about our modern society? We as a nation have been at a crossroads for years where it comes to people fighting for the right to murder and dismember their own children for the sake of convenience and more pleasure. I am going to say some things that might offend, and yet it is still reality. We are in the midst of a modern day holocaust. So far this year in the United States there have been 12,302,357 babies’ lives terminated and it is only April. It has only been 8,593,880 seconds since the New Year started January first. So in simple numbers, approximately 80 babies are kept from life every minute of every day. As I sat and watched the numbers tick by, my heart has been broken, but I also find it interesting that not much has changed over the years when it comes to the sanctity of human life. The Bible was very clear about sacrificing of children centuries ago as written about in *Leviticus 18:21 You shall not give any of your children to pass through the fire and sacrifice them to Molech [the fire god], nor shall you profane the name of your God [by giving it to false gods]. I am the Lord.* Images of Molech were made of bronze, and his outstretched arms were heated red-hot. Living children were then placed into the idol’s hands and died there or were rolled into a fire pit below. Many sacrificed their children to be able to have more pleasure, to live without the responsibility to their own actions. These same sacrifices are being done today for many of the same reasons, only it is happening behind a wall, in a nice and clean room, in a “clinic”. Last year on  April 9, 2024 the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that the state must adhere to a 160-year-old law barring all abortions except in cases when “it is necessary to save” a pregnant woman’s life – a significant ruling that will make a Civil War-era abortion law enforceable in the state. Physicians were put on notice that all abortions, except those necessary to save a woman’s life, are illegal. Since then, it has gone the other way. In 2025, Arizona voters enshrined abortion rights into the state constitution, and a judge permanently blocked the state’s 15-week abortion ban, ensuring abortion access up to fetal viability (around 24 weeks) with exceptions for preserving the mother’s life or health. For those who may be a little confused about choice and women’s reproductive rights, the time to decide not to have a child is prior to conception, and not after. To be perfectly clear on choice, an abortion is only a choice for the person having the abortion, it is not a choice for the “Person” being murdered. Also, the preborn child is “Not” your body, they are their own. Simple math question, how many Arms does a woman have? Hands? Feet? The answer is 2 of each. So that goes to show even to the most confused that the baby is NOT part of the woman’s body but its own. The Baby’s heart starts beating at 6 weeks. At 12 weeks there are about 275 bones, their muscles and all of the organs have been developed. The simple truth is, “Having an abortion does not make you unpregnant, it makes you the parent of a dead child.” As we look at the scripture we can see how God felt about the unborn. It is written in *Exodus 21:22 “If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly…23 But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life* According to Professor John Hannah, “the unborn fetus is viewed in this passage as just as much a human being as its mother; the abortion of a fetus was considered murder”. Abortion represents the killing of an innocent baby, it is immoral, unethical and cannot be justified in any way. America has to stop twisting the Bible to make it look like God says it’s ok to kill unborn human babies when it doesn’t. I want everyone who has been involved in an abortion in any way to understand that there is grace, God’s undeserved favor and forgiveness for you if you confess your sin and ask for forgiveness. You can experience peace and know that God loves you no matter what you have done. And more importantly, come to understand that God loves the little children. Brethren, may we pour out our praise to God and reflect on what is written in *Psalms 139:13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.* As Christians, we must stand for truth, we must stand for life. For those who are staunch in pro-choice, I fear for you, there will be judgment from God Almighty against you, I pray for you to have clarity and beg you to repent. In Christ Love, douglas.
