There is a struggle that is faced by every individual on earth, and that is who are they going to serve. I think about a song by Bob Dylan where the lyrics said, “Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord But you’re gonna have to serve somebody” “You may be rich or poor” “You may be sleeping on the floor, sleeping in a king-sized bed” “You may be a preacher with your spiritual pride” “Still, you’re gonna have to serve somebody.” These words strike me to the core of who I am because there are some days when God is in the forefront of every thought and then there are days when it is not so much. I have prayed fervently over what is written in *1 Kings 18:21 Elijah approached all the people and said, “How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him…* I contemplate regularly my service and to whom I am loyal, and then I think about the words of the Lord Jesus written in *Matthew 12:30 He who is not with Me [definitely on My side] is against Me…* No matter what is going on in your life, what happened in your upbringing, the cause and effects of trauma, whatever is going on in your thoughts, you must understand that no choice is a choice. If you choose not to serve God, you have chosen to serve the devil by default. Saints, we are in a war, and the good soldier of the Lord Jesus must not take their service lightly but be diligent to share the truth. I ask you to pray about this one point, “If you are not feeling the effects of spiritual warfare, you must really evaluate whether or not you are in the battle or just an insignificant observer.” Bonus encouragement – If you have someone that is more concerned about your relationship with the Lord Jesus and your eternal destiny than that of your fleshly desires, worldly presence; someone who is willing to tell you the “Truth” whether it draws you closer to them or pushes you away; someone who prays not only for you but is insistently desiring to pray with you, be sure to be intentional in thanking them for they are loving you on an entirely different level than any of your worldly friends. Please pray for my endurance as I pray for the endurance for all who read these words to stay close to the Lord until we are with Him forever. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
