Every morning when I wake up I pray that I will be kingdom minded, and at the end of the day I try to evaluate whether or not what I did throughout my entire day was enough. Did I bring glory to God enough, did I share the love of my Savior enough, did I help draw at least one person closer to the Lord Jesus? There are other questions that I contemplate and battle with regularly as well. Do I really believe what is written in the scriptures to the point of doing something about it? Simply, do I fear God as much as I love Jesus? Do I really believe what is written in *2 Thessalonians 1:8 dealing out [full and complete] vengeance to those who do not [seek to] know God and to those who ignore and refuse to obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus [by choosing not to respond to Him]. 9 These people will pay the penalty and endure the punishment of everlasting destruction, banished from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power*? I see people in cults who believe in a lie, that are more diligent in the word and works than I am in the truth that I know and by my actions. They will go door to door wanting converts, and yet I am not willing to speak with people that I have known for years, who I know don’t follow the Lord Jesus in any way, shape, or form. In 1879 there was a murderer named Charles Peace, as he was being led to be hanged, a prison chaplain was reading scripture to him. The last words of Charles Peace strike me to the core of who I am, “Sir, I do not share your faith. But if I did, if I believed what you say you believed, then although England were covered with broken glass from coast to coast, I would crawl the length and breadth of it on hand and knee and think the pain worthwhile, just to save a single soul from this eternal hell of which you speak.” The question that all believers in the Lord Jesus must answer for themselves is, “Do you really believe what the word of God says?” The next question is, “What are you going to do about it?” My prayer is simple, “Heavenly Father, I trust You to use me to fulfill your purpose, please give me and all those who have heard these words boldness and courage to share the gospel of the Lord Jesus with the world around us and help us to not listen to the whispers of the enemy and the doubts of our own heart’s. Help us to magnify You for all that You have brought us through and more importantly where You are taking us to, heaven. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name I pray, and all of God’s children say, Amen. Some of us have come through such great adversity and trauma that we cannot “not” tell others about Jesus because that is where He has been not only heard but witnessed as well. Grace and peace to you my beloved. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
