Many times we try to figure out WWJD, “What Would Jesus Do?” and not seek to find out through the scriptures WDJD, “What Did Jesus Do?” For example, did you know that forty-five times the gospels tell us that Jesus went alone to pray. Jesus demonstrated intimacy with God by seeking His Father continually in prayer. Every aspect of His life and ministry was saturated with prayer. Also, Jesus provided for the physical and financial needs of those around Him. He demonstrated the heart of God by standing against lifeless religion. Jesus took advantage of every teachable moment before Him. He served through sacrifice by putting the needs of others above His own. Jesus refused to let the ministry pressures of the day stop Him from identifying and investing in the leaders of the future. He would seek the Father for the strength and wisdom to embrace, restore, confront, teach, serve, and equip the people around Him. Jesus demonstrated the love of God by accepting the castaways of society. When Jesus saw that someone was suffering, He didn’t just say, “I will be praying for you,” He made a point to ask what they needed, and did what He could to help in that moment. Most importantly, Jesus’ lifestyle was written about in *Matthew 6:33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God]…* If you’re not sure what Jesus actually did in His life, then how are you going to understand what He might be doing in yours. Seek to know the Character of God through the reading of the Word, and truly desire to understand what His plans are for your life and then willingly follow His leading. And for those of us who make poor choices and question why things went the way they did, JWPNHGHITSITFP, “Jesus Would Probably Not Have Gotten Himself Into This Situation In The First Place.” My beloved, may the grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord be upon you by the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen. In Christ Love, douglas. HE>i. pastord.blog
