Let me ask you a question, would you continue to reach out to others if you knew that there was only one person that you were going to be able to help, one soul to be saved? There are many people in ministry that keep looking for the numbers from a great revival instead of looking to love and help the people, the individuals, the ones. What should our focus be, is one person helped enough? Abraham pleaded with God for the city of Sodom. As the conversation between God and Abraham went on, they were looking for 50 righteous within the city, then 45, all the way down to 10. The agreement was made and it is written in *Genesis 18:32 Then he said, “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?” And He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.”* The only way that we can get to 10 is to start with one. There are people that we know all around us who desperately need Jesus, and as I say this, you are thinking specifically of one or two that you know personally. It may be a lot of work to minister to just one, but as we are faithful, our God is faithful as well to give us what we need to be able to minister to more and more of the ones. * I am convicted by the words of Charles Spurgeon, “If there existed only one man or woman who did not love the Saviour, and if that person lived among the wilds of Siberia, and if it were necessary that all the millions of believers on the face of the earth should journey there, and every one of them plead with him to come to Jesus before he could be converted, it would be well worth all the zeal, labour, and expense. If we had to preach to thousands year after year, and never rescued but one soul, that one soul would be full reward for all our labour, for a soul is of countless price.” May we remember that the Lord Jesus said in *Matthew 18:12 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?* The question then becomes why go after the “One”? Because the Lord Jesus also spoke in, *Matthew 18:11 For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.* My beloved, may we develop the same heart to pour into the “One” as much as we want to pour into the ninety-nine.
