These words are easy to say but can be challenging words to live out day to day. It seems as though everything in the world gets in the way when a person tries to surrender every aspect of their life to the Lord Jesus. As a Christian, we all need to evaluate what our priorities in life are? Is it to do what the Lord Jesus spoke in *Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you…”?* Or is it to enjoy this life and all the world has to offer without much trouble or inconvenience? How many of us can honestly say that we are preparing ourselves and anyone else who will listen for the heavenly kingdom with purpose and passion? There have been times in my past that I have felt unqualified and incapable of doing anything for the Lord. I now know that these are lies of the enemy that had me complacent in the work of the kingdom and unfruitful. I read that “God doesn’t call the equipped, he equips the called”. There have been many throughout the scriptures that are unlikely candidates to be used by God and yet mighty things were done through them by the power of the Holy Spirit. Joseph was abused. Gideon was afraid. Elijah was suicidal. Jonah ran from God. Isaiah preached naked. And all of these men still did great things for God. The words spoken to and by Isaiah stir my heart and give me the desire to do more for the kingdom, more for the Lord Jesus, and I pray it does the same for all who hear them as well. It is written in *Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”* I like what David Brainerd said, “Here am I, send me; send me to the ends of the earth; send me to the rough, the savage lost of the wilderness; send me from all that is called comfort on earth; send me even to death itself, if it be but in Your service, and to promote Your kingdom.” Most believers don’t hear from God because even if they knew for sure that God told them what to do they wouldn’t do it anyways. My beloved, don’t be afraid when God calls you, be concerned when He doesn’t. As Christians, no matter what comes our way, may we put the things of God first and then let everything else fall into its place, and my prayer is that we will all be able to say with boldness when asked who will go, we will be willing to say, “Here am I. Send me!” And all of God’s people said, Amen. Closing thought, for most of us we wouldn’t be called to go to the ends of the earth anyways, many times we are just called to talk to our neighbor and those who live in our neighborhoods about our loving Savior.
