Over the years God has led me to write devotionals on many different topics. I have invested time reading, researching, studying, and more importantly praying over what I believe God has wanted me to share. Some of what I have written was more about self-care and trying to bring peace to some of the feelings, emotions, and the demons I feel oppressed by more than it was to help anyone else. Certain devotionals were written due to trauma that I needed to deal with, topics I struggled with, or new concerns that were being revealed to me in coming to grips with my character defects and moral shortcomings. As I have tried to figure out why God has chosen to use me in this way, I think about what is written in *1 Corinthians 1:27 But God has selected [for His purpose] the foolish things of the world to shame the wise [revealing their ignorance], and God has selected [for His purpose] the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong [revealing their frailty].* I feel that to the deepest parts of myself. Different individuals are called to minister to different people in different ways. I have come to accept the place that God has me and the calling that He has given to me because I acknowledge that He is Sovereign. My life is not fancy, I am a simple man without any formal training in ministry. I am a man of average intelligence, if that. The one thing that I can say for sure is that I spend time with Him everyday in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship. More importantly, I serve an all powerful God whose will I desire to be in. I know that I share personal information that others may never share about themselves, but if by what I write one person has been drawn closer to the Lord Jesus, it will have been all worth it and praise be to God. I know for sure that one person has been drawn closer to Him by what I write, me. Thank you all for your prayers, encouragement, and support in different ways over the years. My love be with all who read these words and may the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus overflow every aspect of your lives, in His precious and powerful name I pray, Amen. In Christ Love, douglas.
