Are you more concerned with people finding out your sin or offending God? Before you answer quickly, I really want you to sit and think about it, really pray about it. God knows all things, He knows our hearts, our thoughts, our desires, the next sin we will “choose” to do. It does not even have to be one of the big sins because all sin separates us from God. I look at what is written in *Romans 3:10 As it is written, None is righteous, just and truthful and upright and conscientious, no, not one. 11 No one understands [no one intelligently discerns or comprehends]; no one seeks out God.* and also written in *Romans 3:23 since all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God* and through these verses, I have truly come to understand my own heart before God and see more and more that I am a wretched miserable sinner. By some I have been told that I am too hard on myself. For me, I know what kind of man I am before a Holy God. In my past, I have suffered the consequences of my sin, not even fearing being found out by men, much less God. My heart today is to fear God in a way that will bring glory to Him even though I fall short every day. None of us are sinless, but my desire before all who read this and more importantly before our God is to sin less. Charles Spurgeon said, “Christians can never sin cheaply; they pay a heavy price for iniquity. Transgression destroys peace of mind, obscures fellowship with Jesus, hinders prayer, brings darkness over the soul; therefore be not the serf and bondman of sin.” The Christian life isn’t about instant sanctification and purification because if that were to happen how would God get the glory. Instead, it’s a long process of gradual change and growth, about conversion and transformation. My prayer is simple, Dear Heavenly Father, please give me the propensity to love righteousness and hate iniquity with passion; please let every spirit of rebellion in my heart be devoured by Your power; please let every attack of the enemy over my life, family, and friends perish, and never see the light of the day. Lord God, sanctify me from the inside out. I offer my body, mind, spirit, and soul as a living sacrifice to You. Help me to live a life that is always holy and pleasing to You. Strengthen me that I may not conform to the pattern of this world. Transform my mind totally according to Your pleasing and perfect will. Loving Father, create in me a pure heart and renew Your steadfast Spirit within me, and ultimately make me more like Your Son by the power of Your Holy Spirit by whatever way You deem necessary, in Jesus’ precious and powerful name, Amen. Grace and peace to all who read these words and agree with me for you are my BeLoved. In Christ Love, douglas.
