There are many people who read what I write that do not really know me or anything about why I am who I am. Some may remember me from Palo Verde high school class of 82, and the kind of person I was, and it was selfish and sad to say very sinful. Some may have met me throughout my life and seen me when I was a drunk or a drug addict. In 2000, at the age of 36, I became a Christian. You would think that when a person surrenders their life to the Lord Jesus people would be happy for them, especially their family and friends. My father once said that “You went overboard on the alcohol and the drugs and now you’ve gone overboard on that Jesus stuff too.” He was absolutely correct, because I quickly came to understand that Jesus was what I had really needed to fill the void, heal the trauma, ease the pain that I had all of my life. Since coming to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I have taken His words more seriously where it is written in *Mark 16:15 And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race].* The great commission is not a suggestion, it is a command. Shortly before my father died, 12 years after my conversion, I witnessed him become a “Born Again Christian” and for that I praise God that He allowed me to be part of my dad’s salvation process. To see God work in someone you love is one thing but think about this, if hell is as bad as the bible says it is, no Christian should be silent and let someone go without a fight, not even your worst enemy. Charles Spurgeon said “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” I would rather someone be upset with me for telling them that Jesus loves them and they need to repent than to have a peaceful relationship in silence and in all reality, encouraging them to go to hell. The enemy seems to be always right there to discourage us and try to keep us from doing what God has called us to do. There is a change coming to our world. I am not trying to be an alarmist or a survivalist, I want to be a REVIVALIST. I try to live my life in the way the Lord Jesus spoke in *Mark 12:30 And you shall love the Lord your God out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul (your life) and out of and with all your mind (with your faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of and with all your strength. This is the first and principal commandment.* There are many days that I fail to achieve this, and on those days I thank God for His grace and mercy. Beloved, today is the day to make positive changes and decisions not to go back to our old ways, bad habits, toxic people, and waste energy on the things of the world with no eternal value. We can’t entertain the lust of this world or let the world entertain us any longer. There is a change coming, Jesus is coming back soon, stay focused, stay grounded. Maranatha, come quickly Lord Jesus. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Please pray for me as I pray for all who read these words. In Christ, pastord.blog@gmail.com
