Over the past few months my life has been filled with many highs and lows. My family has experienced health challenges and miraculous healings. We have suffered financial loss and gifts that have blessed our home. There have been days of great motivation as well as severe apathy. Times of family and fellowship with loneliness and solitude mixed in throughout. Due to some unforeseeable events, I’ve had the opportunity of being able to pray with two specific people today, that without the situations I encountered, I would’ve never have had the honor and privilege to minister to. First one started yesterday. I had just finished up breakfast with a friend and as I was on my way home I was rolling from a stop, looked away for a second and tapped the rear end of the vehicle in front of me. I pulled over and we exchanged information. There was no visible damage to the other vehicle for it was only at about 5 mph. The other person immediately put in a claim stating that they were hit at a higher rate of speed and suffered physical harm as well as vehicle damage. The pictures show no visual damage. All I can do is pray for them and ask God to protect us from the fraudulent claims they are making. The prayer part came today with the adjuster from our insurance company, Henry. After giving my side, my daughter and I had the opportunity to pray with him for his family’s health as he requested. I know God is in control and we encouraged Henry, but I am still frustrated with the other individuals’ actions. The second person today was at El Rio Dental. I have a toothache from a lost filling and the dental assistant was very happy, helpful, and a Muslim. She helped me fill out some paperwork and I shared a little about Jesus. I asked her why she was a Muslim and she responded because she was born into it. Before I left I asked her if she ever had a Christian pray for her to which she responded “No.” I asked if I could and she said “Yes.” I asked God to show her truth and she thanked me. My tooth still bothers me because they said I need a root canal, but that is for another day. There are days that I question why I go through what I do and how certain verses apply to my life as I pray for those I come in contact with. My go to verse is written in *Romans 8:28 And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.* As trials, tribulations, pain, and eventually death will come to each of us the same way that life has, I have devoted my life’s purpose to live out loud the words of Charles Spurgeon, “I have now concentrated all my prayers into one, and that one prayer is this, that I may die to self, and live wholly to Him.”
