Tomorrow Night October 6th at 6pm, make plans if you can to come out and join us at Calvary Tucson East campus, 8711 E Speedway Blvd, for a night of food, fellowship, worship, and the Word. It will be in the playground area. ALL ages are encouraged to come. In today’s society, meal times have been replaced with a quick bite to eat on the way somewhere, on a tray in front of the T.V., in front of a computer while we work, or on a cell phone checking social media. Unfortunately, gatherings have become reserved for special occasions instead of a regular appointment with those you love and care about. Jesus used the time of gathering not only to enjoy a meal, but it was an intimate time of fellowship where He left wisdom and teachings causing the time together to be something special, something memorable. There are many thoughts that race through my mind as I read what is written in *Revelation 19:9 Then the angel said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” And he said to me [further], “These are the true and exact words of God.”* There is a banquet coming that will be beyond compare. As we wait with expectation for that feast we should remember that there is something special that happens when we gather around our tables to enjoy a meal together with family and friends today. I have experienced Potlucks as something that not only brings sustenance to our bodies but also nourishes our soul. People ask what shall I bring? I usually suggest for everyone to bring something that they would like to eat just in case no one else brings something they would like to eat, lol. One month, evidently the majority of people wanted fruits, vegetables, and dessert. More times than not there have been many different choices to choose from. Some have their crockpot work all day to create a great soup or stew. While others make old family recipes too. Some deliver more than prepare. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just bring what you are inspired to share. So please come out and share some food and get to know your brothers and sisters in Christ. As believers, we are all waiting for a special meal with expectation and until then, may we gather together as often as possible to bring glory to God, edification to the brethren, and nourishment for one another. One thing I can say for sure, many are strangers when they arrive but after our time together we leave as family, all because of gathering together at the potluck table. Looking forward to seeing you there.
