For those of you who read what I write, I would like to thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers over the years. I do realize that it seems as though the devotionals that I have been sharing lately are getting a little longer, okay, a lot longer, but it seems as though I have more to say and can’t seem to narrow it down. There are many who read what I write every day and then there are some who may only read once in a while. No matter how many you read, I pray that each one is a blessing, and I want to thank you all for your continual encouragement. Somedays it is probably challenging to read what I write, but I can say one thing for sure, it is harder living it. Because of the dynamics in our home there are many days where it seems as if “The sky is falling.” We seem to go straight from one trial to another without any time to recover in between. I would like to share a little history. In 2017, I left the automotive repair industry after 40 years, and went back to school without a full time job to supplement my income. Throughout the past six years God has provided in a wide variety of ways, working odd jobs, selling junk, and some of the most impactful, was the blessings that came from those who read what I write and desire to encourage my family with financial support. After graduating college, God did not lead me to go on with school or go get a job with the two degrees I received, He led me home to take care of the children under my own roof, my grandchildren, and minister to everyone who walked through our doors. We are a multigenerational family. A little unconventional in today’s time, but for us, it does take a village to raise a family and we consider ourselves blessed to be able to do what we do. You see, we have four children with very specific special needs. The good news is, a couple weeks ago a few changes came, I got a full-time job getting paid for what I have been doing for years for free, no, it is not at a church, though that would be nice as well, it is Attendant Care, attending to the needs of my two younger grandchildren. Here are the specifics of my life: we have seven people housed in a very small living space with ten or so therapy workers and supervisors transitioning in and out of our home seven days a week. Some days it is continual, 9-11, 11:30-5:30, 5:30-8:30. We can have as many as 10-12 people at any one time in a 900 square foot living space with only one bathroom. The great part of having this many people coming in and out of our home is that we get to evangelize as a family. So, this is where the prayer request comes in. A couple weeks back God led me to start praying about a new home with a little more room, so we started our prequalification application process and continued to follow our family lifestyle found in *Matthew 7:7 “Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking [reverently] and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.* So I am asking all who will, to take a moment to come alongside my family today and say a prayer for us to pre-qualify for a home loan, it would be greatly appreciated. The interesting thing is that we have just found a home that we would like the door to be opened, we feel it would be perfect for our family. It goes on the market tomorrow morning, so we need the pre-qualification approval today to be able to make a quick offer. If we get this house, there would be no doubt in our minds that it would be by the hand of God. And if this is just a pipe dream, we can accept that as well and continue to trust God to bless us with closeness. Trying to leave it all in God’s hands is a challenge, either way He is good. My friends, I value you, and I thank you all for your continued prayers, love and support for my family and I. If we get the house, you are all invited to the Housewarming Celebration, it will be a Potluck. I will keep you posted. We love you all in Christ Jesus. pastord.blog
