Over the years that I have been writing, the one thing I have intentionally done has been to share my problems, situations, praises and petitions out in the open for my world to see. If someone were to go back and read everything that I have written, they would see my life laid bare before the world, my childhood, my substance abuse, my sin, can be seen, but most importantly my Savior will shine. For those who know me as only a Pastor, I feel led to share a few things with you. When I “graduated” high school I was working at Furr’s Cafeteria doing just about everything a person could do. I was a dishwasher, cook, baker, salad maker, etc. After a few years, a change came when I needed to leave the state for a while, caused by poor choices. When I came back to Tucson I entered the automotive field because since I was a child I was always fixing something. I stayed in that line of work for forty years. In the midst of that I had my come to Jesus moment, and I stayed in automotive, working sometimes 50-60 hours a week, while still desiring to minister in whatever snippets of time I had because that was my passion and still is. I reflect on the life of Paul, how he worked and shared the gospel. Shortly after he shared in Athens about them praying to an unknown God and explaining about Jesus, it is written in *Acts 18:1 After these things Paul departed from Athens and went to Corinth. 2 And he found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla (because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome); and he came to them. 3 So, because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them and worked; for by occupation they were tentmakers. 4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.* Since becoming a Christian, sharing the gospel, reasoning from the scriptures, has become my purpose, my reason for living. In 2017, I left the automotive field and went back to college to study Social Work and Substance Use Disorder, to which I received Associates degrees in both and was able to share Jesus in every one of my classes. I have not worked a full time job for six years, and yet I can boldly say that all of my family’s needs have been met by the grace of God. He has provided for us in very unconventional ways, doing a lot of odd jobs and receiving support in a roundabout manner. I am in no way poor mouthing, God has supplied for us in accordance to our needs and continues to bring us through whatever continual challenges come our way, and from what many will attest because you read what I write, there are many. I like what Charles Spurgeon said, “We have all things and abound; not because I have a good store of money in the bank, not because I have skill and wit with which to win my bread, but because the Lord is my shepherd.” For those that don’t know, I live with my daughter, her husband, and their four children. I live with them in my house. They live in the house, (two bedrooms, one bath), and I live in the carport (I do have walls and cooling, lol). All four of the children have specific special needs, so we have therapy workers coming into our home seven days a week, with 8 people transitioning in and out, consisting of more than 100 hours. This is where my prayer request comes in. Over the past few months, God has moved every aspect of our life in a different direction. We are planning on homeschooling all four kids, I am performing attendant care for the younger two, and there are a few other dynamics that I cannot share at this time. We as a family have been praying for some time, and are feeling led to seek a more comfortable living arrangement, not really sure what that will look like or where. Please pray for us as we step out in faith and obedience, with hopeful expectation for God’s direction, protection, and provision. Thank you my beloved. pastord.blog
