I want to thank all who came out for our First Friday of the Month potluck, it was amazing. The food was plentiful, prayer was happening, the worship was sweet, the Word went out and was effective, and the people were fellowshipping for hours after. I often wonder what it would have been like being in the early church. I’ve read the account, and last night I felt what was written about in *Acts 2:46 Day after day they met in the temple [area] continuing with one mind, and breaking bread in various private homes. They were eating their meals together with joy and generous hearts, 47 praising God continually, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were being saved.* Last night there were people from all different walks of life, economic backgrounds, social statuses, and different cultures coming together because of the Lord Jesus, in one common accord to glorify God through the unity of the Holy Spirit. I know that not everyone who was there was a Christian, but my prayer is that because of what they witnessed last night, what is written about in *John 13:35 By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another* that they may be a little more convicted to do what is right, a little closer to desiring a genuine relationship with God. I realize that Potlucks aren’t for everyone, but I can tell you that God met us there. I often pray about what is written in *Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching.* Last night, the family of God came together and the body was strengthened, the saints edified, and many were drawn closer to Christ. My brethren, we are not called to sit on our couches and watch Netflix, we are called to help each other suit up in the armor of God and prepare for battle, and last night that is exactly what happened. Thank you all, whether or not you were there for your prayers and support. pastord.blog
