“MK-Ultra was an illegal human experimentation program designed and undertaken by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), intended to develop procedures and identify drugs that could be used in interrogations to weaken individuals and force confessions through brainwashing and psychological torture.” The most basic form of Mind Control is Repetition. Some think modern day mind control is a Conspiracy theory, but in reality, I believe that it is prevalent today and it is the enemy trying to distract people from God with the purpose of controlling our thoughts and actions with a bunch of subliminal messages? Today there are over 8 billion people on the Earth while having over 6.5 billion smartphones worldwide in use today. According to recent data, the average person spends 3 hours and 15 minutes on their phone each day. And 1 in 5 smartphone users spends upwards of 4.5 hours on average on their phones every day. Algorithms are used on social media to sort content in a user’s feed. With so much content available, it’s a way for social networks to prioritize content they think a user will like based on a number of factors. Research shows this overreliance on your phone can lead to mental laziness. Modern connectedness also could be rewiring our brains to constantly crave instant gratification. Social media, in my view, provides the user with inconsistent positive reinforcement, similar to substance abuse, it can be consuming. There is a Japanese proverb about three wise monkeys that has the images of, see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, and all three have been combined to a person on a cell phone. We have developed a lack of moral responsibility and refuse to acknowledge impropriety, looking the other way or simulating ignorance. Almost like a modern day lobotomy. I have prayed over verses like what is written in *Romans 12:2 …be transformed by the renewing of your mind…* *2 Corinthians 10:5 …we take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ …* *Philippians 2:3 …with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself…* *Philippians 4:8 …if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, let your mind dwell on these things…* *1 Peter 1:13 …gird up your minds for action…* and have come to the conclusion that I am as guilty as everyone else of getting distracted by the cellphone and craving that dopamine hit. The Bible says that our thought life is an extremely important and vital aspect of being a Christian. All Christians are responsible to control their thinking and yet how many of us are actively aware and intentional to do so? We are not to be conformed to this world’s way of thinking, but to be transformed to God’s way of thinking. Our thought patterns must be brought under the control of God’s value system and not the world’s. My heart is to do what is written in *Psalms 101:3 I will set no worthless or wicked thing before my eyes…* but every day I seem to fail in one way or another. My friends, please pray for me as I pray for all those who struggle in similar ways. Thank you my beloved.
