There are many battles that we face every day, some are won over time and some are lost in the heat of the moment. The main reason that I can see why I have lost battles in my own life is that I was NOT focused on the Word of God as I should have been. We can see by the Lord Jesus’ example in the scriptures how we are to respond to the spiritual battles going on around us. We can see how the Lord Jesus responded to Satan in *Matthew 4:3 And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But Jesus replied, “It is written and forever remains written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’” * When Jesus was hungry and tempted by the devil, the devil questioned the Lord’s authority, “If You are the Son of God”, and the Lord Jesus’ response started with, “It is written”. The Bible is our battle manual, our document of authority. It takes approximately 74 hours to read the Bible from front to back, out loud, word for word, at an average reading speed. I am challenging myself to read it through over the next year and I want to challenge all who read this as well. Reading devotionals is a good thing to do, a better thing to do is to get into the Word so that the Word will get into you. Every piece of the Armor of God is for defense except for the sword. A sword is for attacking the enemy. It is written in *Ephesians 6:17… and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.* Brethren, when the enemy attacks or problems arise in our lives, we need to know how to respond. We need to know where “It Is Written” and how to fight the battles before us! B.I.B.L.E. – Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. Brethren, may we take every Word written to heart and be prepared for the raging battles that surround us. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus.
